TEXTBOOK DONATION AND CAREER MENTORSHIP – ST. BRUNO PRIMARY SCHOOL, ZZIRU.
Providing mentorship and textbooks to empower pupils of St. Bruno Primary School, Zziru.
The Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Akright City, in partnership with the Musizi Buddy Group, successfully implemented Adopt St. Bruno – Phase II at St. Bruno Primary School, Zziru, a project designed to empower young learners by providing career guidance and mentorship sessions that inspire ambition, instill confidence, and nurture values of hard work and resilience, while also donating vital textbooks to enhance classroom teaching and access to knowledge, with the overall aim of supporting quality education, promoting literacy, and building hope for a brighter future, directly benefiting more than 350 pupils who received both learning resources and personal motivation, alongside their teachers who now have additional materials to enrich lessons, and indirectly benefiting the broader community whose children are better prepared for future opportunities.
We learned about the community’s needs through direct engagement with the school leadership, teachers, and local stakeholders at St. Bruno Primary School. This included discussions on gaps in learning resources, challenges faced by pupils, and opportunities for mentorship. Previous interactions under “Adopt St. Bruno – Phase I” also informed our understanding, ensuring that Phase II addressed priority needs such as textbooks and career guidance.
The project will have lasting benefits for the St. Bruno Primary School community by improving access to quality learning materials and providing mentorship that inspires ambition and positive life choices. Pupils will continue to use the donated textbooks to enhance classroom learning, while the guidance received will help shape their personal and academic development. Teachers benefit from additional resources, and the broader community gains from better-educated, motivated children who are more prepared for future opportunities.
The benefits of the project will continue through ongoing use of the donated textbooks by pupils and teachers, ensuring improved learning outcomes over time. The mentorship and career guidance sessions have instilled knowledge, skills, and motivation that pupils can carry forward. Additionally, the “Adopt St. Bruno” program establishes a long-term partnership between the school, Rotary & Rotaract Clubs, and the Musizi Buddy Group, enabling future support, follow-ups, and community engagement to maintain and build on the impact.
